Hays M. Alexander

Hays M. Alexander is a founding member of Alexander Sides. Hays has experience in a wide variety of complex business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, offshore construction projects, and commercial and industrial real estate matters. He is listed among the top real estate lawyers in the State of Louisiana by Chambers USA (2011). Prior to forming Alexander Sides, Hays was a partner in the Business, Corporate and Real Estate group of Kean Miller, LLP, a large regional law firm.

Brett M. Sides

Brett Sides practices in the area of business law, including real estate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, joint venture formation, leasing, commercial transactions and corporate governance. Brett’s experience includes organizing business entities, negotiating and drafting asset purchase agreements, stock sale agreements, commercial leases, loan and security documents, master service agreements and assisting in loan workouts. Prior to starting Alexander Sides, Brett practiced in the business group of Phelps Dunbar, LLP, a large national law firm.

Before entering law school, Brett served as a pilot in the United States Navy from 1994 to 2003 attaining the highest rank of Lieutenant Commander.

Brett N. Brinson

Brett received his J.D. from LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 1997, where he was a member of the Louisiana Law Review. He then joined the business group of Kean Miller, LLP, a large regional law firm. In 2008, Brett resigned his partnership to become the President of U.S. Radiology Partners, Inc., a regional radiology and teleradiology management company. In January of 2013, a national teleradiology company purchased U.S. Radiology Partners, Inc. After spending some time with his family after the sale, Brett joined the Firm in June of 2013.

W. Carlos Spaht

W. Carlos Spaht graduated Order of the Coif from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2008, where he served as the Executive Editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review. Following law school, Carlos clerked for the Honorable Frank M. Hull of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in Atlanta, after which he practiced with a large, regional law firm. Carlos joined Alexander Sides in 2015, bringing experience in a variety of business issues, including mergers and acquisitions, technology law, capitalization, formation, corporate governance, and risk assessment. Carlos was named a SuperLawyers Rising Star for both 2013 and 2014.

Matthew L. Mullins

Matt practices in the area of business and corporate law, including real estate transactions, leases, entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate finance. Immediately prior to joining the Firm, Matt was Corporate Counsel for a regional construction and crane company whose primary focus was oilfield and pipeline related construction. Before that, Matt was a partner at Taylor, Porter, Brooks & Phillips, L.L.P., a regional law firm based out of Baton Rouge.
